Currently editor’s choice and $6.99 in Apple’s app store is “Horn” by Phosphor Games. I’ve experienced many crashes while playing this game on my iPhone 4S running iOS 5.1.1, so before dropping $7 for a bug ridden game wait for an update. Once I did get the game up and running I was greeted with near console quality graphics. “Horn” features the unreal engine giving the games surroundings a natural feel. The game doesn’t feature linear based or rails based gameplay, you can travel just about anywhere in the play area. Controls are a little awkward. To progress forward the player must tap on the screen wherever they want the character Horn to go. You can’t simply walk backwards either, the player must rotate the camera then tap accordingly. When fighting an enemy gameplay is exactly the same as the “Infinitely Blade” series, where swiping frantically on screen lodges various attacks. Also, when fighting an enemy one cannot simply jump, the player must wait for an onscreen action button to appear then the player can jump. Once an update arrives removing several lagging and crashing issues, this game will ensure a player a great game. Many of the puzzles get repetitive but considering you can only fit so much in an iOS game so that game will then fit on an iDevice players should expect this. Crashing and lagging aside this is a great game. If you are the type that can look past these issues then go ahead and download this game.
